By Kieran Archer
Colliery Welfare look to continue a run of three consecutive wins (two in the league) when they face North Shields at the Daren Persson stadium in their Northern League Division One encounter.
Hoping to feed off a positive atmosphere after their first Ryhope Derby victory, which followed an away win against Whickham, RCW will be looking to climb the table further.
They face a North Shields side who sit 9th after nine games, four points ahead of Ryhope having played one game more.
They have had a mixed start to the season with four wins, one draw and four losses.
North Shields come into the game on the back of a 7-0 victory over Penrith in the League Cup, however their last league game resulted in defeat at Stockton.
Our last game against North Shields was a 6-2 home defeat at Recreation Ground.
However, in last season’s game at North Shields we came away with a 1-0 victory.
RCW captain Ben Riding returns from a two-match ban.
Jonny Ball, Joey Melvin, Corey Barnes, Josh Home-Jackson, and Davey Gordon are the players still unavailable for selection.
However, Ryhope are bolstered by the signings of Joe Atkinson and Craig Ellison who had great debuts against RCA.
Gary Shaw has also been signed from Hebburn, adding to the squad’s strength.
