MANAGERS

Gary Pearson

As a player Gary played for England schoolboys before playing professionally for Sheffield United, Darlington and York City. He also played non-league for Stalybridge Celtic, Gateshead, Spennymoor, Durham City, Bedlington, Sunderland Nissan and Crook Town. His first management role was player/assistant manager at Sunderland Nissan, he then became player/coach at Crook Town and got the manager’s job at Crook Town in December 2011.  Gary won the Northern League Second Division with Crook Town in 2012/13 and consolidated the side in Division One. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season Gary took over at Ryhope CW, in their second season they finished runners up in Division Two and gained promotion to Division One.

David ‘Prof’ Pounder

Joining Ryhope CW in May 2021 as part of the new ‘Trio Fluid Management’ structure. David brings a wealth of experience, a former professional player making over 200 appearances for Scarborough and York City in the Conference League before joining the Northern Leagues with a winning appearance at Wembley with Whitley Bay in 2011 as they won the FA Vase. David has previous management experience as Joint Manager at EBAC Northern League side, Easington Colliery AFC. Pounder also playing experience in the Northern League having played for CW during the run in EBAC Northern League Division 2.

Craig Hughes

Also joining Ryhope CW in May 2021 as part of the new ‘Trio Fluid Management’ structure. Craig brings years of management experience having held the Joint Manager position at EBAC Northern League side, Easington Colliery AFC since 2017. Hughes also playing experience in the Northern League having played for CW during the run in EBAC Northern League Division 2.

Physio

Jimmy Vipond

The experienced physio joined Ryhope CW at the beginning of the 2017/18 season having previously worked with rugby teams and spending many seasons at Crook Town.
